Q.Why is the basic listing free?
Because the directory only works if it’s comprehensive and trustworthy. We curate the free tier so homeowners can find any reputable LKN pro, whether they pay us or not. Paid and Featured are upgrades — never requirements.
Q.Do you sell my leads to competitors?
No. Never.When a homeowner finds you on LKN Life, they call or message you directly. We don’t broker. We don’t take commissions. We don’t even know if you closed the job unless you tell us.
Q.Are there contracts or commitments?
No annual contracts. Paid and Featured are month-to-month. Pause Featured anytime — most businesses do, between busy seasons.
Q.What does “verified” actually mean?
We call your phone number, look up your reviews, confirm your service area, and Connor visits you in person within the first 30 days of you joining. No bots. Eight specific criteria — you can ask us about any of them.
Q.How long does it take to get listed?
Free profile: typically within a week. Paid profile with photos and full About story: 7-10 days. We don’t rush verification — homeowners trust the directory because we don’t.
Q.Can I edit my own profile?
On the Paid tier, yes — you log in and edit anytime. On the Free tier, profile content is set by us (which keeps it consistent). Upgrade to Paid to take the wheel.
Q.What if I want to remove my listing?
Email us and we’ll take it down within 24 hours, no questions. We don’t hold listings hostage.
Q.Do you list national chains or franchises?
No. LKN Life is intentionally local — independent businesses, multi-state franchises and national chains are excluded. That’s part of how we earn homeowner trust.
Q.What service areas count as “Lake Norman”?
The eight towns ringing the lake: Cornelius, Davidson, Huntersville, Mooresville, Denver, Sherrills Ford, Troutman, and Terrell. You need to serve at least two to be listed.
Q.Can I pay annually for a discount?
Yes. Annual billing saves about 15% on Paid and Featured. You can switch from monthly to annual anytime in the dashboard.
