Brooklyn South Pizzeria

This place is awesome. I grew up in NYC on the ‘60s. I moved away in the ‘80s. The main thing I miss is a pizzeria like this. My sisters live in Manhattan and you can’t find a place like this, where the pies are fresh, and they have such a varied menu with calzones , strombolis and entrees. The staff is polite, that’s the only way you know you’re not in New York City.

Generally pretty good! Definitely a respectable slice. Especially if you eat in with it fresh out the oven, it's got just the right amount of crunch to it. Not huge slices, but certainly adequate and a reasonable price point. A nice space inside, not too fancy but in better-than-average shape for most pizza joints. Great that they have standard thin crust, Sicilian, etc. The only reason I give it a 4 out of 5 is that over the years (I've been around here 15 years now) it can be a bit inconsistent now and then. Often it's a solid pie, but other times it's a bit thick and doughy or just a bit off. Still, totally worth a shout and it's easily some of the best pizza in the immediate area.

Ordered two Stromboli over the phone for pickup, the person taking the order was not familiar with this item, now I understand, this location doesn't make Stromboli any thing like the Brooklyn Pizzeria I go to in Goldsboro NC. This Cornelius NC location may be a different outfit all together. I will have to check with them on my next visit and give their pizza a try.

A mixed bag at this local Italian joint. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect - nothing fancy, but generally clean, though oddly several tables remained dirty from previous diners despite the restaurant being mostly empty (only about four tables occupied in the spacious dining area). Our group ordered various dishes with decidedly mixed results. The eggplant Parmesan earned positive remarks from one of our party, while the plain cheese pizza was well-executed and surprisingly stood out as the highlight of our meal. Unfortunately, the specialty "Nona's Pizza" was completely inedible with a thoroughly blackened, burnt bottom crust - a disappointing miss from a pizza-focused establishment. The appetizers were a similar contrast - cheese sticks were clearly just frozen items tossed in the fryer, but the garlic knots showed some real promise with their tasty flavor profile. Service was unremarkable, neither adding to nor detracting from the experience. While this visit revealed some significant inconsistencies in food preparation, there were enough bright spots to warrant giving them another chance in the future. With some attention to quality control, especially on their specialty pizzas, this place could become a solid neighborhood option.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ To those about to nosh, stick with the plain cheese pizza, and you shouldn’t have any issues!

Brooklyn south saved my party! We had a party for 50 people and another caterer did not have our order when we went to pick it up at 4:30! As people were arriving at our house we had no food. Panicking we called Brooklyn south and within an hour we had amazing pasta and chicken parm for 50! And they even delivered meatballs to our house! I cannot say enough about how amazing they are and the food was exceptional. Even better than my original catering order so it all worked out for the best!
