Everything was great. The education,
the animals, the people, the facilities have some wear on them. But they are rebuilding them currently! It's really exciting to see all that they're doing.
I highly recommend coming out or getting with a homeschool group or a school group or something and come see what they've got and support them.

Awesome outing for anyone looking for outdoor activities. This museum has a variety of birds. Despite the chilly temp, we had the chance to see falcons, hawks, owls and learn about their environment. They offer a seasonal pass but we went for the day.

What a cool experience. We did the meet a raptor session in the morning and the encounter in the early afternoon. Both were engaging and fun for both the kids and us adults. You get to see those beautiful birds up close and learn from an expert. Everyone here is welcoming and knowledgeable. Guides along the trail answered questions and told stories and the birds seem well cared for. They have a wide variety of birds of prey to see and learn about, from the smallest owl to bald eagles and a giant vulture. They have local and more exotic birds, most are rescues but some are from captive breading programs for education and conservation. My predator bird obsessed kid absolutely loved every minute of our visit. It’s also a wonderful walk in the woods. We went in the fall and I can’t wait to go back in the spring when the leaves are green. I’m sure it’s beautiful in every season.

We wish we had had more time at the Raptor Center but had to leave for the airport. This rescue center is an amazing opportunity to see lots of different raptors up close. We visited in the morning shortly after 10 and were able to see them being fed. The walk through the outside area is about 3/4 mile long with lots of opportunities to sit and watch each bird. The rescue center is located in Latta State Park so you do drive a ways into the park to get there. Parking was easy, and and there was no wait for tickets. We will visit again when our travels take us back to the Charlotte area.
