Charlotte Independence Soccer Club

We love being a part of the Charlotte Independence Soccer Club family! Our boys have played on the recreational, junior academy & competitive teams. The coaching staff is supportive & knowledgeable. They’ve helped our boys grow their love for the game and also develop their skill sets.

Coach Barry has been great for our son and the team. He really understands the game and does a great job explaining it in a way the kids can actually apply. He’s firm but fair, holding them accountable while remaining supportive. We especially appreciate the extra time he’s taken to help our son understand the path to college soccer. This shared knowledge has been helpful to him and us. He is also an excellent communicator for players and parents, always keeping us informed on what they’re working on, his game strategy, and expectations. We are truly grateful for his leadership and the positive impact he has had on our son’s development.

We can’t say enough great things about Independence Soccer Club! The coaching and staff are truly exceptional. Over the past several seasons, we’ve seen tremendous growth in our son’s skills, confidence, and love for the game — largely thanks to Coach Ward’s leadership and ability to ignite a new level of drive in him. The development has been remarkable. Our son gave up multiple other sports to focus solely on soccer, and because of this club, he has never regretted that decision. As parents of two soccer players, we have had the opportunity to witness firsthand the growth and development each of our children has experienced this year. Both of our kids began playing with Charlotte Independence Soccer Academy this season, and throughout that time we have seen meaningful improvement in their skills, confidence, and overall understanding of the game. Our children are at different points in their soccer journeys—one has been playing for two years, while the other has four years of experience. Despite their differing levels, Charlotte Independence Soccer Academy took the time to evaluate each child individually, gaining a clear understanding of their unique strengths as well as areas for growth. The academy has worked intentionally with both of them, building on their current abilities while introducing new soccer skills in a way that aligns with where each child is from a development standpoint. Whenever our kids have questions, their coaches are approachable, responsive, and genuinely eager to help. It is evident that this soccer academy is deeply committed to developing players, not just managing teams. The futsal program has also been outstanding. Coach Pat While brings incredible energy, enthusiasm, and passion to every session. He meets each child exactly where they are in their futsal journey, and by understanding their individual needs, he creates a program that enhances technical skills while keeping the experience fun, engaging, and rewarding. In summary, we feel incredibly grateful for the experience our family has had with Charlotte Independence Soccer Academy. The care, intentional coaching, and genuine passion for player development have made a lasting impact on both of our children—not only as athletes, but in their confidence and love for the game. Charlotte Independence is a fantastic club that truly cares about each child’s development. Our daughter has been part of the futsal program for several years, and we’ve seen tremendous growth in her skills and confidence because of it. This year, she joined a State-level competitive team, and the same level of dedication, professionalism, and support from the staff is evident across the entire organization. We’ve participated in multiple Independence programs, and we genuinely credit much of her development to the coaches and training environment they provide. Being part of a club that prioritizes both individual growth and team development makes all the difference.
