We visit Discovery Place Kids – Huntersville at least once a week, and it has become one of our favorite places to go as a family. Our 2-year-old son absolutely loves it—especially the train section! He could spend hours there.
What makes this place so special is how many different play areas there are for kids. It’s not limited to just one type of activity. Children can explore a veterinary clinic, drive a fire truck, shop at the grocery store, work in the restaurant café, play in the water area, or try hands-on activities in the mechanic and construction zones. There’s also a beautiful ocean-themed section, an art area for creative play, and regular activities like story time and puppet shows.
We decided to get a membership, and honestly it’s one of the best things we’ve done for our son activity-wise. It gives him a fun, engaging place to learn, explore, and play every week. Definitely worth it for families with young kids!

What a fun and kid-friendly place! An interactive museum for children is brilliant; educational as well as exciting. Every staff member that we encountered were exceptionally friendly and personable! We will definitely be back!

I visited this kid friendly museum with my daughter and 15-month old grandson. He had a great time. We all enjoyed ourselves. There's so much to do and it's extremely kid friendly. Even small.babies have something to look forward to. I definitely recommend this place for parents, grandparents, godparents, etc.

Fun for little kids, though for me far too open with a really high ceiling making it echoey, loud, and overstimulating. I’d prefer more walls and peaceful nooks. The play structures are fun, and if I lived nearby I would be a member, but I probably could get better fun value for my 10, 8, and 6 year old: paying $16 per person (including adults who are mostly just following kids around supervising them) is pricey.
I have more fun at the high point children’s museum (the Nido and Mariana Qubien Children’s Museum) it has more outside areas and a greater variety of play opportunities for different ages and a double decker carousel!
