i had my baby here and my experience was great!! Diamond was my night nurse for 2 of the nights i was there and I’ll never forget how amazing she was!! she took such good care of me and my baby boy. my Doctor Dr. Wilson was also great, he performed my c section and answered any questions i had along the way. My anesthesiologist i had during my c section was amazing also, he reassured me and explained what was going on the whole time and as a first time mom having a c section, it’s SCARY!! but he made it so much better.

The care seems good in the ER.. I have only been twice. But, it is DIRTY. This was the air vent above the hospital bed in the emergency room we were at the other day. Noting, this is not a small air vent, it is about 4 ft wide and at least 8 in tall. Each little hole is at least a half inch by half inch. It was disgustingly obvious how dirty it was. Again, the care was good so I'm grateful for that first and foremost. But I also want to know that the hospital is sanitary, and looking at this I can't really believe it's that sanitary.

My experience with Duke health was good! The Hospital was clean and the staff was very professional! Julie my Pre opt nurse was very caring and supportive! Both Kelly’s in the prep and recovery were awesome. The whole anesthesia team and operating team were great. I highly recommend them , sincerely Tom

I went to the ER at Lake Norman Duke Health on February 25 after experiencing 24 hours of dizziness, shortness of breath, near fainting, and a documented blood pressure of 90/40 from my primary care physician earlier in the day, who advised me to seek emergency care that evening if my symptoms persisted.
Dr. Jonathan Leake was the attending physician. He spent approximately 2 to 3 minutes with me and did not perform a physical examination: no abdominal exam, no lung exam, no hands-on assessment of any kind. However, his medical documentation states that a physical exam was completed and includes specific findings that could not have been assessed, because no exam occurred.
His notes also state that I refused fluids/Zofran (I did not), that he sat down and thoroughly reviewed my results (he did not), that serial blood pressures were taken (they were not), and that I did not report abdominal pain (I did, and it is documented in nursing intake notes). I also reported shortness of breath, yet my lungs were never assessed by Dr. Leake. While luckily my condition did not did not worsen, the lack of care and attention to my most basic complaints raises deep concerns about the care myself and other patients receive under this doctor. This is extremely careless and can truly put one's life at risk.
When I asked for clarification about the treatment plan, I was abruptly told my tests were normal and that I would “just be discharged.” Dr. Leake then abruptly left the room, escalating the situation, and leaving me feeling confused and distressed. Shortly afterward, I was informed there had been a shift change and Dr. Leake had left the building. The on-duty physician refused to come speak with me despite multiple requests.
I am deeply concerned that Dr. Leake’s aloofness, lack of thorough evaluation, and apparent rush to discharge me prior to shift change reflect a broader disregard for patient care. Based on this experience, I believe he represents a serious liability not only to the hospital, but to the safety of patients under his care. This encounter demonstrated a lack of basic attentiveness and diligence that no patient seeking emergency treatment should experience.

WARNING...STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOSPITAL! My husband was admitted by ambulance for another stroke on June 20, 2025 when I went to the hospital to follow up on him, they had not given him his insulin for his type 2 diabetes, nor his meds for his blood pressure, when I questioned the nurse as to why she said, we're watching him on a sliding scale,THAT'S BS!!! I came home and called his doctor at Duke in Durham, NC he asked me to have him discharged from LNR and drive him to Duke in Durham, NC. When I went to do so a police officer threaten to arrest me shook handcuffs in my face then ordered me off the property! I later called back a Male nurse Sebastian told me he was going to be moved to another facility when I asked where, and when they were smart alecs, told me "it was for me to know and you to find out!" I was also told I was not allowed back on the property of LKN Regional or I would be arrested!!! For the next from Friday to Saturday they would not tell me I where my husband was. Saturday afternoon I got a phone call from a nurse in Statesville at what's called the Behavioral Unit, which is an Insane Asylum!!! She was asking me why my sweet husband of (50 years) was there because they did not treat stroke victims and the insane asylum. I told her she would have to call Lake Norman Regional, because I had no idea, I had no communication & wasn't allowed on the property!!
I later found out that my husband a multiple stroke victim, with dementia and a pacemaker, was perp walked to a police car and driven to Statesville NC!!! He had no idea why he was going in a police car, and it upset him tremendously he thought he was going to jail!! What happened to do no harm? As the days continued and every time the shift changed, I got phone calls from nurses and doctors requesting information as to why he was sent to this particular hospital, which was an insane asylum? I visited him and the nurses were quite intrigued again. Why he was sent to this facility without justification, and without any notification to me! Apparently, the male nurse went to the
Doctor on call and had a judge magistrate take my power of attorney away and issue a warrant to put him in an insane asylum...which is crazy! The insane asylum doctor requested him to be discharged on Wednesday June 25 2025 after 12pm. In the meanwhile, I found out that his medical doctor had over medicated him with antidepressants, which caused him to act out. Our doctor at Duke Durham NC stated that a dementia patient should never be on more than one antidepressant, because it causes more confusion! So understanding that this hospital was being governed by Duke in Durham, I filed a formal complaint with the risk management.
Lorie Medlar, Clinical Risk Manager at Duke Healt Lake Norman Hospital. I asked Ms. Medlar would it be possible for us to meet her and speak to her about the situation? She totally was against it, said it was against policy rules at the hospital. I received no help from her only letters stating that it was still under investigation over 6 months now I have not heard back??? Apparently, she's going to let it get so cold that no one will remember, sweeping the facts under the rug!!! Perp walking my dementia husband to a police car is absolutely disgusting!!! I have been told by many that you go to Lake Norman Regional to die I believe it!!! AGAIN?
WHAT HAPPENED TO DO NO HARM???
