Fresh Chef

*** Please note the menus in the google photos are not correct. Most items on the menu are increased in price by $3 dollars or more*** The service was great. Everyone was polite and smiling. Our drinks were never empty. Our server brought extra napkins without request. She also was quick to bring anything requested. The atmosphere was slightly upscale with linen wrapped silverware. The booths and chairs were comfortable. The lighting and furniture all gave the ambience of fine dining. The portions of food were large. We could not finish our meals. The french fries were great. They cut up my father's onions for his burger as requested. Our condiments were all on the side in small silver sauce cups. My lettuce was a spring mix which was fresh. My onion was fresh and sweet. My tomato was a good slice but was old. It was mushy and grainy in the middle. I could tell when the plate was sat down the tomato was old by looking at it. Our burgers were cooked correctly. One medium and one medium rare. The burger was nothing more than a Bubbas Burger. It was not fresh meat pattied out into a burger. You could tell it was frozen meat from the taste. The burger had very little flavor. It was perfectly round and had grill marks on it. My Brussels sprouts were cooked properly with balsamic added. Red onions were sautéed with them. My only complaint were the onions were way overcooked. Most of them were burnt to a crisp. They looked like a pile of black goo in the middle of the brussel sprouts. They tasted bitter and charred. The Mushrooms and provolone for my burger were cooked perfect. The cheese was just melted enough on top of the mushrooms. My father's cheddar cheese was not melted on his burger. For the overall cost of the burger at $13 and $16, I would not order their burgers again. I may go back and try the restaurant once more before I decide if I would frequent them or not. There are no clear gluten free, vegetarian, or vegan option. They did not offer gluten free bread or pasta.

My first time here and I ordered the shrimp and grits. OMG the best shrimp and grits I've ever had. They were so delicious and the staff was so friendly. I will be going back soon

Quick review - very good comfort food menu, friendly and helpful staff, and nice location with plenty of parking. We really loved the "string" type fries and actually made a special trip back to have more during our short stay in the area. The meatloaf was also extremely good. We were there on a Tuesday so tried their 3 tacos for $10 deal, and had the beef, fish, and chicken. All were decent but honestly would skip next time. Overall highly recommended if you want to get some fresh, good food.

Tried the black and blue filet at Fresh Chef along with the mushroom risotto and the duo dip appetizer. Honestly, it started off really good. The guacamole in the duo dip tasted super fresh and definitely seemed homemade. I wasn’t a huge fan of the pimento cheese though. When the main food came out, the filet kinda had that “meat glue” look to it which threw me off a little, and the risotto wasn’t really anything special. Still, I do appreciate that they seem to make a lot of their food in house, and overall the meal was decent. The cleanliness could definitely be better though. My daughter found an opened jelly packet laying around which was pretty nasty. The bathroom was acceptable but not exactly spotless either. Overall, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend the place, but I also wouldn’t tell someone not to try it. Mixed experience for me.

Hannah was so awesome serving us. Super polite and professional. Food was banging as always. You really get a huge portion for lunch. Had the burger and fries and it’s all super fresh and I don’t feel like crap after I eat. Can’t recommend this place enough.
