H2 Public House

We thoroughly enjoyed this place. Didn't know what to expect with a name like H2 House. I'm sure there's a story behind it. But that's a story for another day. We were there with a group of 20. We had two individuals assigned to us and they did surprisingly well considering. The atmosphere was very pleasant & enjoyable. Typical sports bar with TVs located all around. Our food came out surprisingly fast. I had the fish & chips with a side of Mac & cheese. Everything was very good except one minor detail of the Mac & cheese was a little dry. No worries, I ate it. My wife had the prime rib sub with au jus. She had no complaints. She said it was very good. I recommend giving it a try. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Had the smash burger. Really more of a regular cheese burger to set expectations, very tasty. 2 patties, charcoal broiled on a fresh upscale roll. Lettuce tomato and choice of cheese. Brussel side was excellent. A bit of a kick, (red pepper flakes), oven roasted / broiled with a balsamic glaze & sprinkled parm. Tortilla soup was delicious with lots of chicken, beans, corn & tortilla. Great lunch at a great price. Great service too

I went on Wednesday night for the 1/Half price bottle of wine and the seven dollar Smashburger. The food was great. The wine cost was not explained properly. I would never have paid $40 for a Sauvignon Blanc bottle of wine. I listen to the waitress as she told all of the friends at my table what their cost would be and when she got to me, she had told them the regular price and the half price when she got to me, she said $20 so when I got the bill, I thought it was going to be $10. I was extremely disappointed and could not understand how that happens. I talked to the manager. He in no way was willing to work with me on the bill as he took up for the waitress and said she was the trainer. Well, I got news for you. Employees don’t always do everything correct and I as as the customer usually do get some kind of break as I said, I would never have chosen that bottle of wine. It was a $40 bottle of wine which meant half price was $20. I would never ever in my wildest dreams paid that much for that bottle of wine. I am disappointed and I’m not sure that I will be in that position again. I will go back there. The food was good, but I will never get caught up in that 1/2 price bottle of wine when it is not explained the way it should be.

This was a while back but I took the family there to get a quick meal. It was not too crowded and the service was good. Their chicken sandwich was really delicious and had a nice crispy. The tots were even better, actually that was the dish that the fam ate up really fast!! Love this place and it’s local so I plan to go back often.
