Handel's Homemade Ice Cream Cornelius

Wife and kids were feenin’ for something sweet, so we stopped by Handel’s one night after dinner… and just like that, it became part of our nightly post-dinner routine. We ended up going back 4 nights in a row! Each time, we went for the four-scoop sampler and, by the end of our trip, we’d tried 32 different flavors. Yep—32! And honestly? They were all pretty great. Creamy, delicious, and not too sweet—just perfect. Handel’s became more than dessert—it became the highlight of our nights. You’ve been warned: once you go, you’ll probably go again… and again… 😄🍨

Ice cream, Sorbet, Shakes and Sundaes—Handel’s has it all. This location in Cornelius outside of Charlotte boasts of a quiet location, polite staff and an extensive menu. There are tables outside where you can relax while waiting for/eating ice cream. We got the hot fudge brownie sundae and coconut caramel sundae. It took around 5 minutes for us to get our order—the service was quite prompt. It wasn’t busy on the Wednesday evening that we visited. I highly recommend this Handel’s location if you’re craving something for your sweet tooth.

Great ice cream spot where your taste buds can feel and taste the quality. Sometimes there’s a wait if there’s a lot of people here, but the staff has a system to get the line moving as fast as possible. When your ice cream is ready, they open a window and yell out your flavor, so make sure that you’re paying attention!

You have an absolute angel of an employee working here!! I wish i would have thought to grab her name, she was young with blonde hair. She paid for my ice cream because right when i ordered my phone died 😩 & I was doing tap to pay. I offered to send her money via cashapp or Venmo once I charged my phone and she declined 🥺❤️. Thank you so much sweet girl, my toddler loved his ice cream!

We were able to get there when no one was in line, so we were able to take our time. Yet, they have 4 stations to handle lots of traffic. The corner location has a good amount of parking options, too. While they did not have indoor seating, the corner had a patio with 3 umbrella covered seating spots. Honestly, you could also grab your ice cream and eat in your vehicle. I ordered the 4 scoop sampler. It was so hard to narrow it down to 4 flavors. They have so many great options, even for non-chocolate people like me. You see that board of goodness! I finally, after much deliberation and an extremely patient server, picked: strawberry cheesecake, Black raspberry chunk, Orange Dream, and coconut pineapple. I appreciate how you could taste the flavor in every bite. Yes, I'm ice cream biter...lol! I would highly recommend it!
