Hello, Sailor!

This place has the potential to be AMAZING. Amazing location, view, and vibe. The view of the lake is so relaxing!! Unfortunately they have entirely missed the mark. You walk into a desk that’s facing the wall, no one greeted or welcomed us in. Randomly seated by someone that seemed unsure. We had reservations for Valentine’s Day and were expecting a WOW experience. The waitress was amazing that we had, very knowledgeable about the menu and fast to what we needed. They were very attentive to my gluten intolerance (celiac) and bring me a GF menu but unfortunately that removed almost 75% of the menu. The appetizers were pretty good but the entrees we got were so low quality and felt like a drive thru meal. They do deceive you by naming things on their menu very high end “classy” names but nothing is high end about this place. It’s a low quality fish house on the lake with a great view but unfortunately the food isn’t even good. We left disappointed and spending $140+ on water, 2 appetizers, 2 sandwiches( 1 no bread due to GF). Not sure what demographic they are trying to cater to or what is happening. The menu and beautiful location is just poorly thought out. Jimmy John’s across the street is better. We unfortunately won’t be back!

Our review is based on a private event experience at Hello Sailor We chose to host a welcome party for our wedding since we had about 50+ people traveling for our wedding and had never been to Lake Norman. Initially we had a wonderful experience booking. A few months out they did have some turnover which led to a few communication issues but Tammy the manager quickly resolved them and Elaise the events manager was relayed the correct information. When the day finally arrived, they did a FABULOUS JOB! They made menus, did a great job with the tables and decor. The food was amazing and perfect!!! I am so happy we chose to book with them and will recommend them for others wanting a similar experience. Their customer service and commitment to improving really won me over and made the event better than planned. We are so grateful - this was so perfect and we appreciate them dealing with our guests - they loved the party so much they didn’t want it to end and we had to keep reminding people to leave 🤣 100/10 for private events

The experience was different. You walk in and immediately feel like you might want to change your attitude towards the place. The entry was greeted as we were getting ready to be seated for a funeral. The staff just seemed to be willy nilly doing what needs to be done except making sure we were ready to order our food. Asked if we had a reservation as we did not but the entire inside had a very minimal customers seated which should have been a clue as to why are there not more people here at lunch? The food was good and had its own spin on items, no complaints. The overall feel was a little uncomfortable with very small tables especially for four people. Wish I could say we would return but it doesn't look promising. Price point is too much for the food we received.

Our first time eating here. Great view of the lake when eating on the deck. We ordered the burgers minus buns. Very good! Came with fries but they were a little hard. Decent, but not great. Our daughter got the spicy chicken sandwich with fries. Her sandwich was good but her fries were hard as well. The fries were shoestring so maybe they were a little old or overcooked. Not sure. For dessert, they split the key lime cheesecake and they said it was delicious. Our server was very attentive and the food came out quick. Great atmosphere and price seemed fair for being a restaurant that’s lakeside. 9/13: went back with some friends and ordered the exact same thing (as did my wife). And not only was the burger delicious again, but everyone’s fries were too!!!! As a self proclaimed fry guy, they were spot on! Great food and atmosphere

We had Lunch at Hello, Sailor and we loved it here! The location is beautiful, the food was delicious and we had very friendly servers. Must try are the pickles and the watermelon. The cauliflower steak was yummy and the shrimp tacos as well! Plenty of parking space and high chairs are available. You can enjoy a meal at the lake here! We will come back!
