I cannot recommend this place enough. Featuring homey, Charleston vibes this high end restaurant should be on your places to try in the area. Starting with service, everyone was friendly, helpful, and overall hospitable. Our server, Noah, was super helpful and ensured we had the best experience from creating our drinks to recommendations on the menu. Personally, I had no idea what to order to drink so the bartenders took charge and created two wonderful tequila based cocktails, though I believe they could make any liquor base you desired! My boyfriend got two different old fashions (and with their wide selection of bourbon sounds like you can’t go wrong with this classic). He recommends going the smoked route to add to the flavor and overall experience! Now for the star of the show: dinner. The scallops melted in your mouth while the crab cakes were probably some of the best I’ve ever had. They were primarily crab and had a beautiful savory taste making you wish there were more than 3. Overall, I highly recommend coming here for any occasion and plan on returning very soon!!

Recently went to the Hunter House and had a fantastic meal. Just a quick recap of everything: The food was top notch. As the pictures show, we tried quite a few dishes between Shrimp and Grits, Fish (several options on this category), Crab Cakes, and what I'll call Lambsicles, and all were delicious. Additionally, the cocktails are wonderful and the wine list is littered with wine from high quality wine regions. One thing to note, is the chef specials are quite extensive, so what you see online is only about 60-70% of the menu, so be prepared to adjust if you go in with a plan. The service and atmosphere is great. The rooms are broken into small sections, which keeps the atmosphere pleasant and at an appropriate noise level. The wait staff was also great, in which they were attentive, and ensured all of us were served at the same time. Lastly, and just to be fair, the prices are high. Again, you pay for what you get, so if you pay top of the market prices, as long as you get top of the market quality, then I'm good, which this is a classic example of that. I highly enjoyed my experience and would recommend this as a special occasion place to eat.

We tried several entrées, including the rack of lamb, duck confit, and chicken. The lamb was cooked as requested and came out balanced in seasoning with a clean presentation. The duck confit was also enjoyable, with accompaniments that complemented the dish well. The chicken stood out less positively, as it was on the dry side, even though the sauce itself had an interesting flavor. Service was warm and attentive throughout the evening. The space has a welcoming, old-world feel that adds to the dining experience and gives the restaurant a distinct sense of character.

Best experience ever! My husband and I had an amazing dinner and with fabulous service too! The ambience is very romantic and the wine and cocktails are wonderful. I’m also in a women’s group who attended a Mixology event here. What a great night everyone had socializing and learning how to make our new favorite drink! Don’t miss this gem right in our Huntersville backyard!

One of our regular restaurants to go to. The 4 stars is because I don't know how to give half stars. Food has always been consistent. The wild boar and beef meatloaf is moist and delicious. The shrimp and grits balanced and smooth. The baked brie is a great appetizer and the bourbon cheesecake with espresso a great finisher. The loss of point this time was for a couple of reasons... the brie built up in saltiness especially when you include the home made bread, the mushroom sauce for the meatloaf was sweet and they did not have any hot sauce to offset. We sat outside in the porch. With 63F temperature, the heater made for a comfortable feel. Service was, as always friendly, welcoming and efficient. This is one reason we enjoy coming back (of course the great food helps too).
