Course is definitely getting better since the old ownership of mallard. Saying that, it’s no where near close to being a “nice” course, let alone a competitor to mooresville. My friend and I decided to go last second after work on a Sunday to play 9 holes, we didn’t expect to pay much knowing the course conditions, but unexpectedly were told it was going to be $55. I understand this course is working to make it somewhere where everyone wants to go, but why am I paying more than every other course in my area, when I’m playing on a half open course with terrible fairways? I understand what the course is trying to do, but I wouldn’t recommend going to this course for at least another year when it starts to reach its potential.

We moved to the golf course about 8 months ago. We have to say that we are very disappointed that they allow people to walk their dogs on the actual course. Despite having no trespassing signs, dog walkers allow their dogs to roam freely on the golf course, creating a loud living environment and people feel free to cut through residents yards to get to the course. The other issue is that they have allowed Bamboo to grow wild in certain areas, which cause destruction to peoples properties.

The Mallard course was taken over by LNGC. The facilities are improving rapidly. Memberships are available for a reasonable amount. Public is welcome Sun, Tue thru Thursday. Members only Friday and Saturday.

New owners ruined it for people not wanting to spend a ridiculous amount of money to golf as a high schooler or college student, would play here 6 days a week when not in school, haven’t been back since i went once after new ownership, completely destroyed it with members now and upped prices for the same course as it was before with just freshly cut fairways. Heard this same story from multiple people who won’t go back now because of new ownership. Go too birkdale or 500 club at that point.

I have lived on this course for almost 5 years and I have never seen it in a better shape than this. Every week we play, something has changed for the better. Not to mention the opportunity this place is providing for the people staffed there. The staff is great and welcoming, from the pro shop to the staff outside running the place. Gavin, Claire, Megan, Aidan, John they are all amazing. Course conditions are improving by the day. Tee boxes finally have grass, greens are leaving divots and balls rolling better, traps have actual sand and its not a relieve point anymore, some fairways are already looking good but we know that it is going to take a whole spring/summer to get that crab grass out of there. The pond is lively and clean finally, and the clean electric carts are a great addition. While I miss the old folks, I believe they left the track in good hands that will take good care of it. I can't wait to see this place by the end of next year -G
