Ms. Valerie has been teaching our son piano lessons for almost a year. She is a dedicated teacher and has taught our son very well. She is always punctual and ensures she gives her best to each and every student. By teaching students one-on-one, she can evaluate their strengths and weaknesses and tailor her teaching methods accordingly. I highly recommend Lessons on the Lake Music Arts Academy to any parent looking to enroll their kids in music lessons.

My daughter began piano lessons with Valerie one year ago. I noticed right away that Miss Valerie was extremely nice and also passionate about music. She's even presented at a national conference for music teachers. It was about how music is the only activity that incorporates the entire brain and how incredibly beneficial that is for kids and adults alike. Although Brooke enjoyed her piano sessions, as she entered middle school with an increased sports load she complained about keeping piano to her schedule. As most parents know when pre-teens/teens get something in their head, it's pretty difficult to change their mind. I even asked my daughter at one point, when I was trying to find out why she wanted to quit, if Miss Valerie is as nice to her during her lesson as she is in front of me. My daughter right away said, "Yes. She's really nice mom." While doing my best to convince my daughter how good piano is for her brain, her schooling and her life in general, I convinced myself to try it. At this point, my daughter dropped out of piano and I became what is probably Miss Valerie's oldest new client! Despite being a music lover and singing "REALLY WELL" when the radio is turned up REALLY LOUD, I have absolutely no experience reading or playing music. Now in my 40s I've taken piano for about a month and absolutely love working with Valerie. She encourages me and most importantly, at my age, isn't making fun of me! Ha! Piano has been very meditative for me and relaxing.

Our daughter is taking lessons since over 2 years in piano at Lessons at the Lake. Her teacher Ms. Valerie is amazing. She is kind and knowledgeable. Our child has improved her piano play tremendously since starting lessons there. Additionally, her self confidence has also improved. We can only recommend Lessons at the Lake. And will send our daughter there for years to come.

Very kind and committed teachers. Miss Valerie is so encouraging to all the students, not just the ones she teaches. Miss Anne has impressed us with how quickly our daughter has advanced with playing the violin in only a few short months. The atmosphere is very relaxed and encouraging. Highly recommend.

We are a hardcore Lessons on the Lake Family. We recently moved to the area and Lessons on the Lake came highly recommended. My 12 year old son was the first student to take lessons. He has been studying piano with Ms. Valerie for about a year. Although this is his 5th year playing the piano, she quickly assessed his skill set and areas of development. She has been working with him to become a stronger pianist. I took voice lessons with Ms. Valerie for almost one year and she pushed me outside of my comfort zone. She assisted me with proper breathing and placement of notes. Taking lessons was the highlight of my week. Unfortunately, work priorities caused me to stop. However, I recently signed my 6 year old daughter up for piano lessons and she loves it already. Let’s just say Ms. Valerie is a multigenerational educator and an asset to the Mooresville community.
