New York Butcher Shoppe & Wine Bar

We've had great BBQ from this location in the past but that was not our experience this last week. First off - if you want BBQ ribs, we were told there's an additional $30 charge to smoke them????? We ordered the Smokehouse Family Meal. Not sure what happened but some of our food was not good. - Brisket was tough and dry. - Pork was good. - Chicken wings were good. - Corn on the cob was not edible. - Coleslaw was just OK. - Mac and cheese was just OK. - Buttermilk biscuits were the size of a silver dollar (tiny).

Very disappointed in my salad yesterday, and hoping this was just due to recent snow, and not a change in quality…Ordered my favorite smoked salmon salad to go for dinner and had their smoked wing special for lunch while there. The service was friendly and helpful as usual and my 6 wings were good, but when I had the salad for dinner, it was almost inedible. I was so turned off by the amount of skin and fat that was included, that I gave most of my dinner to my dog! I’m guessing that they were running low on product, but I would have much rather been told they ran out, than to have been sold skin, fat, and the brown part of the salmon. This has never happened before and I’m only posting in hopes it never happens again. Hopefully this will be remedied in the future and employees trained on how to properly make this salad. It has been very good in the past but this was my first time back in 2 or 3 months. Doesn’t make me want to go back anytime soon.

Welp...was hoping for a trip to flavor town..but seems i got off on the wrong exit. This food hurt my feelings. After reading good reviews i was excited to pickup my order because as a busy mom..having a day where i dont have to cook is a real treat! But got home and to my dismay...and after paying way more than normal...i had to season everything, add flavor to the steak frites sauce, cut the teensy steak into slices to add to the fries..and make a homemade garlic aioli sauce to make the steak sandwich taste like anything at all. And im going to have to make a sauce for this macaroni i guess its advertised as...but it was just dried elbow noodles with melted cheese ontop. I was really hoping to have found a cool spot to come once and a while when affordable...but i hate to say i should have just went to jersey mikes. This is such a cool spot..i hope the flavor Gods come for a wee visit soon and sprinkle some umami dust all-over everything! Hoping for some good changes soon!!!

Ordered a bunch of food, everything was great. Only opportunity for improvement was the wings. Ordered dry rub, but didn’t taste or see any rub. Burnt ends 5/5 charcuterie 5/5 tuna avocado tartare 4/5 10 oz steak 5/5 (son loved the fries!) Mac and cheese 4/5 asparagus 5/5 crab cake and salmon dinner 4/5 heirloom salad 4/5 Dry rub wings 3/5 Water was good, no metallic taste 5/5 Typesetter Cab was good 5/5 (clean finish) It was a lot fancier plating than I expected.

This beautiful Prime rib bone-in roast made Christmas dinner a true feast! Even the left overs were very tasty. I took great care to follow cooking directions and it turned out perfectly! It was great to see a fully staffed business too. My only concern was I asked for 4 lbs, they cut 4.5lbs and at $35/lb. makes the overage a bit costly.
