North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital

We moved to Cornelius from Los Angeles with our two pups, Miss Vanjie and Billy. We loved our vet in LA, and I was a little nervous we'd have to try a few different vets to find one we felt just as good about. After asking around and a little research, we chose North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital. Three years later, we're nothing but delighted with the care Billy and Miss Vanjie receive. Our pups have been seen by many of North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital's remarkable vets, including Dr. Renehan, Dr, Shaffer, Dr. Gilberg, Dr. Heh, Dr. Holland, and Dr. Kritzinger. Whether it's a health check up, a teeth cleaning, or something unexpected (like Billy's suddenly painful luxating patella), each doctor is compassionate, skilled, and takes the time to answer any questions and listen to concerns. We always leave feeling our dogs are in excellent hands. Beyond the veterinarians, very vet tech is kind, friendly, knowledgeable, well-trained, and so obviously loves animals (shout out to Faith, who is a delight!). Everyone you interact with, from the front desk to the pharmacy, is attentive and helpful. On top of all that, North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital is veterinarian-owned, which is something I love! 10/10 recommend!

So thankful for the kind and professional staff at North Meck Animal Hospital. Brought my grand-pup in for his exam and to update vaccines. He’s a nervous Nelly but not a problem for the vet and vet techs! They make sure we have a pre visit med routine and do everything they can to help make our guy comfy. Asking what works best, bribing with treats and giving him space and time makes for smooth visit. Little things like the music in the room and letting me walk him to the scale make a huge difference in the emotional impact of each visit. Thankful to have a place that understands and works with anxious pups.

I can’t say enough good things about North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital. Dr. Lydolph has been absolutely amazing with my dogs. She takes the time to truly listen, answer every question, and explain things in a way that makes you feel comfortable and informed. What I appreciate most is that she approaches care from both a veterinarian and pet owner perspective, which speaks volumes about how much she genuinely cares. The entire staff is kind, welcoming, knowledgeable, and always makes both me and my dogs feel valued and cared for. It is such a comfort knowing my pets are in good hands with people who clearly love what they do. Highly recommend!

This was not our original vets office because ours was closed, but I called North Meck animal hospital in a panic on Saturday and they worked us in immediately. Even when they were closing within a couple of hours. Dr. Shaffer and her team were incredible. She explained everything from what they would do to cost breakdowns. The problems our pup was having wasn't an immediate threat, but Dr Shaffer felt she had an on going problem that hadn't really been addressed and she offered samples of food, prescribed medications and in 24 hours our pup is back to feeling better again. Needless to say I'll be moving her over to North Meck for all future care.

We went in for a consultation with Dr. Gilberg for a spay for our puppy and she was AMAZING. Dr.Gilberg was so incredibly patient and caring. She spent so much time working with our puppy to help calm her down and get her to feel comfortable for an exam vs just pushing through the exam. After the consult I felt very confident that she was the one I wanted to do my girls spay. It might be a routine procedure but it is still a major surgery. We are very happy to have found NMAH (and Dr. Gilberg).
