Took our pup in for a routine dental with Dr Blackard. She found a slab crack in a molar. She immediately called and we authorized an extraction. Dr Blackard is empathetic, comprehensive and highly skilled. We are grateful she’s caring for our fur babies.

This week, our two year old dog, Annie, suddenly became very sick. North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital saw her right away, no waiting. We saw Dr. Spickler and Dr. Holland who spent so much time with us and Annie. They worked tirelessly attending to her many symptoms and probable cause. They also worked tirelessly with us, knowing how worried we were. We immediately knew Annie and us were in good hands. After a period of 4 days, Annie is now getting back to her fun goofy self after following the doctors' recommendations. Dr. Spickler and Dr. Holland, you are our heroes and cannot thank you enough!

My pup Archer was the first large breed dog that I raised on my own. Adopted in 2017 at 6 weeks, he was the gentlest, most intelligent German Shepherd any kid right out of college could've asked for. He truly was the greatest companion and he gave me the best 8 years. November 17th of this year, he was diagnosed with an unknown cancer from a different doctor in South Carolina. Inoperable, uncurable. Dr. Blackard and Karen met with us for our third opinion on the matter, to see if anything could be done. And as heartbreaking as it was to hear there was nothing that could be done due to the location of the tumor, and the rate it was growing, both Dr. Blackard and Karen helped both of us through it and gave Archer their best in terms of how to handle it and how to proceed. The care and compassion they both showed, the attention to Archer, every last aspect of this awful experience of saying goodbye to my best friend, to the very end, was softened by them and their professionalism. North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital is lucky to have them as staff, as Archer and I were to have them as vets. Thank you both.

I have used North Meck in the past but unfortunately had lost two dogs over a year ago. We finally decided it was time to add a new fur baby. They were great from the moment we walked through the door.

We were able to make a same day appt!! The team at NMAH provided great care for me and my furbaby. We were welcomed, quickly ushered to a room, went over the details of reason for our visit, then doctor came addressed my furbaby’s issues. They were patient, kind and gentle and timely. Highly recommend! We have been using them for over 20 yrs!
