Northern Regional Recreation Center

I took my son swimming at Northern Regional Recreation Center for the first time, and it was a wonderful experience! The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and informative from the moment we arrived. They took the time to explain not only the swimming facilities but also the many activities and programs available for families and children. The center was clean, well-maintained, and family-friendly, which made our visit even more enjoyable. My son had a great time in the pool, and we left excited to come back and try some of the other activities they offer. Excellent customer service and a great community resource—we highly recommend Northern Regional Recreation Center to other families looking for fun and engaging activities!

I'm greeted each time I walk thru the door! This place is great! It's clean, has a wide variety classes, and the equipment is properly maintained. I especially enjoy the indoor track when it's cold and there's greenway access from the parking lot! It's a wonderful addition to my regular routine!

I went to this recreation center for the first time with my son to play pickle ball this morning. Pickle ball didn’t start until 11am so we decided to play Badminton. There were groups of people waiting to play and no one knew who was playing next. I suggested putting the rackets in order and the 4 racquets at the front will play when one of the three courts becomes available. Many of the players reported that they have been emailing management, Joel and Ryan, about correcting this issue with no success. Joel wrote in an email, “We do not have a problem bring out a PA system and mic and you as a group talk it out before one open play session, like a Monday night. But understand the overwhelming majority has to be on board. Joel Kent, Recreation Program Supervisor.” This is ludicrous. I observed that the third court was being monopolized by a group and their wives were monopolizing the first court. About 15 people were all waiting to play on the second court. This created tension, confusion, and chaos because Joel and Ryan refused to manage after I brought it to their attention. So if you have 8 people and get there early, you can take over a court with no regard for all of the other people who are waiting to play. Now at 11am, the pickle ball players were following the queue system. I felt like asking the 3 people I was playing with to stay on the court with me to prove a point. A disorganized family is one with no parenting where people do whatever they want with no rules or regard for anyone else. Joel and Ryan are using this permissive model of parenting to manage the recreation center. I will be contacting the Parks and Recreation Center on Monday.

So much space! So beautifully decorated for the season! Something for all members of the family from young to old. There are some components that have yet to be introduced, like the nature aspect of the center, but most things are up and running. The Senior Center, the pool, the Gym, the weight room, enjoyed by lots of members when I was there today. There were 3 birthday parties happening as well. Lots of parking, so that’s another plus. Got signed up with my Silver Sneakers. Can’t wait to spend time here in the new year, especially trying the water slide!

I am in love with this new facility that is just only minutes away from our home in Davidson. It’s got everything you need and I’m definitely going to push my mother-in-law who is a senior to use the center as well. I took many pics and I am incredibly impressed by the number of lifeguards in the children’s pool area. I plan on enjoying this new facility!
