Pisces Sushi Bar & Lounge-Lake Norman

We were in the area for an errand and decided to stop in for a mid week dinner. We have always enjoyed the quality of the food and presentation at the restaurant. We were greeted by two hosts and selected outside seating for our meals. The patio is tree lined and offers a nice outdoor setting. Our server was a bit frazzled and stated he had multiple tables, inside and out, so we embraced ourselves for not their standard service. This proved true when we ask to sample two wines to decide on our selection. Our server stated we should go inside to the bar to get the samples as he was busy juggling tables. I agreed and went inside and imagine my surprise when the server went behind the bar to pour our taste. I brushed it off as just an off night. Our dinner order took some time to receive (30 minutes) so we enjoyed the Albariño wine while listening to Latin music being played on the patio (not standard atmosphere for an Asian restaurant). The food and presentation of the sashimi was nice and very flavorful. The Albariño paired nicely. Overall, mixed dining experience influenced by service and odd ambiance of the outdoor seating area. We might try them again in the future with the hopes of improved service.

The food is fresh and good! The service is great. The staff is friendly. We have been a few times and consistently good. The atmosphere is nice.

The key to everything here is the service. Lawrence was probably the best server we've had in 2 years!! The food was okay but not anything you can't get at most Asian restaurants in the area. It's just a notch lower than Sushi on the Lake. Pisces service is extraordinarily better than them, hands down. Both places are identical as it relates to the prices. Not cheap. We'll be coming back here!!

My husband rated this a 3 and I rate it a 4, so I thought I'd go with the higher. We ordered 3 sushi rolls, the steak appetizer & the pineapple fried rice. The steak was super tender, had a unique flavor. Husband didn't like, I thought was different but not bad. The screaming "o" sushi was my favorite of the 3. The other 2 were good, no complaints from me. The pineapple rice- the chicken was dry. The shrimp didn't have much flavor. My husband said the pineapple was great & the rice with it was good. I tried it, it wasn't something I cared for.
