Our community hired Rowboat Dock & Dredge last year to secure our gangway to our pier. The original attachment was failing and the gangway was separating from the pier. Rowboat charged us $2,600.00 for this repair. Less than a year later the gangway is pulling away from the pier even worse than before Rowboat made the repairs. Rowboats project manager who priced our repair has no knowledge of dock construction and has no business estimating jobs. I am attaching photos of the point of attachment before and after the repairs were made. The first photo is the point of attachment before the repairs. The rest of the photos show that Rowboat attached a 2" x 10" plank to the face of the pier with lag bolts. They then attached L brackets to existing 2" x 6" floor joists which clearly needed to be replaced or at least doubled up. We attempted to have Rowboat return to fix the issue properly as it should have been done originally and Rowboat responded by saying they will charge us an additional $2000.00 to repair the problem they failed to fix the first time. Rowboat also charged our community over $600.00 for permits they never filed for and the work was never inspected by Iredell County. This company claims to be the best in the business, but I wouldn't hire them for any job big or small.

I was initially hesitant to use Rowboat Dock and Dredge due to some older reviews, but after learning they were recently bought out and had new ownership, I decided to move forward. I’m glad I did; the new owner Scott and his team built a beautiful double-decker dock for me in 2024. I couldn’t be happier with the result. The design and workmanship were truly top-notch, well thought out, and built to last. Their crew was professional, courteous, and clearly took pride in their work. While the project did take much longer than initially expected, I appreciated that they never rushed the job. Their commitment to doing things the right way — not the fast way — really stood out. If you’re looking for quality construction, I highly recommend Rowboat Dock and Dredge.
