I love Savory House Kitchen! I've had Chef Derek's food at catering events, I've taken his cooking classes, and now his to-go menu! It has all been delicious and mouth watering! The portions on his to-go menu are huge and well worth every penny! He uses all fresh ingredients and puts his heart and soul into all of his cooking.

Savory House Kitchen was so easy to work with for our wedding in Charlotte. Chef Derek was excited to cater a smaller wedding and suggested a Jamaican-style menu that our guests loved. For real, people raved about how flavorful the cabbage was, which you don't see often. The planning process was super-organized and the prices were right. We visited their tasting room in Denver where Ms. Tammy and Chef Derek made sure we were happy with our food options. The catering and bar staff that worked our wedding were punctual and super helpful. We didn't have to lift a finger to direct them, they just did a great job and made sure we and our guests had everything we needed. It made a potentially stressful day easy.

We chose Savory House Kitchen for our wedding catering, and it was one of the best decisions we made! From the very beginning, we were hooked after our tasting. Everything was absolutely delicious, and we knew right away they were the perfect fit for our big day. For cocktail hour, we served spinach dip in phyllo cups, crab cakes, and southwest eggrolls — each one was flavorful and beautifully prepared. For dinner, we had spinach stuffed chicken, beef short ribs, mashed potatoes, and broccolini. The beef short ribs were definitely a standout! Our guests are still talking about how tender and flavorful they were. Chef Derek was incredible to work with. He took the time to explain how each dish was prepared and thoughtfully accommodated the changes and preferences we had. His attention to detail and passion for the food truly showed. If you’re looking for catering that delivers amazing flavor, professionalism, and an unforgettable dining experience, I highly recommend Savory House Kitchen!

Wow! Let me just say, this is probably the best place we have eaten at in a very long time! A hidden gem but you MUST try this place!! From start to finish Savory hits on every aspect of your experience. On Monday evening we stopped in and just decided to check out their menu- well we ended up getting way more than we expected. We were greeted by Chef Derek himself who explained the entire menu and how they operate. We ended up trying a few different items on the menu and were blown away!! He wasn’t lying when he told us there wasn’t anything on there we wouldn’t like. We got the Smash Burger, App sampler, and the Honey Siracha bowl, all of which were INCREDIBLE!! Chef Derek and his crew are professional and take pride in truly making your experience worthwhile. More than anything we just appreciated the hard work and kindness that he showed us for our first visit. He truly cares about his craft and We are SO looking forward to going back!!

If you are looking for a Chef for a private small dining event or a larger catering style event I would HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Derek with Savory by ddt. I found Derek on Facebook as a recommendation from a local lady. I reached out to Derek, discussed our needs for a private 50 person party and booked him pretty quickly. Leading up to our event, we corresponded many of times to discuss every last detail of our menu. He created unique dishes for every course and really gave our guest an experience rather than typical party food. He was also very accommodating with allergy preferences and really worked with me so all of our guest had something special to eat. Which they all greatly appreciated! The day of our event, Derek and his team showed up fully prepared with everything they would need to cook, set up, serve and clean up. His timing and attention to detail was absolutely impeccable. Our guests are still raving about the food at this party. Everything was displayed beautifully, everything tasted amazing and on top of that the service was phenomenal! I cannot say enough about the team he brought with him. The professionalism was out of this world. They were all so kind, extremely hard working and knew what they were doing. With the whole party, Derek, his food and his team are what people are still talking about. I am so thankful to have found him and am looking for another reason to have him cater a party!
