I ordered a birthday cake for a 12-year-old and specifically requested a light purple and white design. I paid around $90 but what I received looked nothing like what I ordered. The cake was clearly blue and white, not purple.When the cake was shown to me in the building, I noticed the color was way off and was told it was just the lighting Then I took it outside into the sunlight, it was obvious the cake was blue. On top of that, the piping work did not match the design I requested at all it was too thick I went back inside to address the issue but instead of trying to fix it or offer any type of compensation, I was put on the phone and told, “I can’t put your cake in a bag,” and that the color was probably due to oxidation and nothing could be done. If oxidation is an issue with the food coloring then they should change the brand or should have told me beforehand.There is no way this cake should have been considered acceptable to give to a customer. If it had been any actual shade of purple, I would not have been that upset, but this was literally blue and looked nothing like what I paid for. Nothing was done to resolve the situation, and it completely ruined an important day. The cake itself was good the icing was a bit too sweet. (The pink cake was the design layout and the light purple was the color I had requested )I clearly did not get what I payed for the color nor the piping work was correct

Rachel & the team at Small Cakes Mooresville did an awesome job. I celebrated my 25th Anniversary as a State Farm agent and Small Cakes was a hit at our Open House. Can’t say enough about how pleased we were with everything!

We ordered an 8” gender reveal cake and 24 cupcakes. The outside presentation of the items and the taste was good. Not the most amazing cakes we have ever had, but moist and not overly sweet. Unfortunately, we were not aware that the standard for a gender reveal cake was an icing core. I actually wanted minimal icing for the cake in general as I’m not huge on icing myself as the mom to be. My mom placed the cake order for me but was on the phone with me while doing so. We were not informed that the color to indicate the sex of the baby would be in the form of an icing core. If so, we would have requested the cake itself to be that color. At the time of the reveal, we were very disappointed because we weren’t able to see the icing core inside it when we sliced it. We actually had to dig half of the cake open in order to see the filling. The spotlight moment was just sort of a blur of confusion as we and other family members tried to discern what the result was. I went in today to give some quiet feedback, making sure that no patrons were in the area to overhear. The woman who took the order, who I believe is the owner/manager and the one who made the cake, didn’t even apologize. She matter of factly expressed it was OUR fault for not requesting differently and claimed she told my mom during order placement. She did not. Otherwise, as previously stated, we would have clarified our intention right there. I also came in myself a couple of days after the order was placed to finalize details of the order. Mostly I’m upset that the service was very condensing when I attempted to express my disappointment about the reveal and the icing core inside. I didn’t ask for a refund or any discounts. I simply just wanted them to be aware of the expectation some guests may have so they could clarify for the next ones a little better. Instead, I was met with “I’ve been doing this for six years and this is how it is.” We are not professional bakers so that is why we leaned on THEM for help. I’m extremely disappointed in the overall experience and will not be returning or recommending them in the future. Side note: the external presentation was what we asked for.

For starters this place was so cute and cashier was the sweetest. There are some many choices making it hard to pick but these cupcakes..are some of the best I ever tried. All it takes is one visit to be hooked.

This cake shop is the bomb!!!! This red velvet cupcake is out of sight, it’s moist, fluffy, light and the icing melts in your mouth. They also made my daughter a six inch cake at the last minute for her birthday. I came in at 5:02pm Friday and the cake was ready the next day at 2:30 pm on a Saturday. It was a vanilla birthday cake flavor and it taste phenomenal. I would recommend this to anyone. I don’t remember how much the cake was because I purchase two other items. So with two cups cake and a six inch in the picture below the total was $52 not bad at all. Very pleased and will be back. Also the girls on Friday were super nice!!! Great customer service.
