SpareTime is genuinely a great place. The kids love it, it feels safe, and it works well for families or adults—whether you’re here for games, bowling, or the bar. The location is good, the environment is fun, and overall it’s an enjoyable spot.
I’m leaving a one-star review strictly to get the management’s attention on a basic but important issue: they do not accept Apple Pay or any tap-to-pay option. In 2025, that’s an unnecessary inconvenience. Most people don’t carry cash, and many rely on digital wallets. I had to walk all the way back to my car just to get a physical credit card, which shouldn’t be the experience here.
This place deserves better payment options to match the quality of everything else they offer. Management, please update this.

We changed things up last night—instead of hanging out in Birkdale—we headed over to check out Spare Time.
I’m mad at myself for not visiting sooner. They have so much to offer!
Arcade games, bowling, a sports bar, pizza, and even an escape room.
This might be one of the coolest places to have a birthday party!
We absolutely loved seeing the presence of Huntersville police for our added protection!
Come have some FUN!

Very clean facility and kind employees! Best part: all the arcade games were in working condition! That’s hard to find normally. Bowling area was also nice and clean.

I want to start off by saying I really love Spare time and visit frequently to bowl. I’m leaving a lower star to hopefully grab the attention of someone higher up. When someone orders food, the expectation is that it is prepared and delivered in a timely manner. Especially on a week day when there’s hardly any people, a pizza shouldn’t take more than 20-25 minutes from the time of ordering to being delivered to the lane. I ordered one individual flatbread, and it took over an hour to get to me. I was informed that 1) after about 40 minutes my pizza was finally going in the over, then 2) about 15 minutes after that I was told by the cook a free finding out for myself that he had accidentally burned the other pizza and was remaking it. Now this falls in the fault of both the employee and the employer. Employees must do their jobs diligently and correctly, and employers need to make sure that their staff is properly trained to handle things themselves. If the gentleman making my pizza wasn’t directed properly and can’t handle orders timely, then he shouldn’t be there by himself he should have someone supervising/assisting. The lovely lady behind the bar offered two $10 Spare time cards to me and my boyfriend which was very kind, but I’d rather just have my food out in a timely manner-not when I’m done bowling and waiting to leave until my food got there and I could eat it. One of the last times I visited as well, I ordered a brownie with ice cream (brownie sundae or whatever it was) and that too took around 45 minutes to get to my lane. It’s a warmed brownie with ice cream scooped on it. Even making the brownie homemade there shouldn’t take 45 minutes to come out. Hopefully this can be worked on in the future, I will happy remove and update a positive review of my next experience with food is better.
