Top 5 pancakes I've ever had. Friendly staff, ample seating inside and out.

I want to be fair here, because after the fact I realized this location shares a building with another restaurant and transitions from a breakfast concept to barbecue at 11:00 AM. I understand that operationally — but as a customer, that is extremely unclear, both online and in person. I arrived at 10:59 AM and walked into a space that appeared open and active. There was no clear signage explaining that breakfast was ending or that the restaurant was about to switch concepts. There was also no host present. What I did see was a counter with a register and breakfast menus still out, which reasonably suggested breakfast was still being served. I walked up, picked up a breakfast menu, and was ready to order. Staff watched this happen and only stopped me once I tried to order, at which point I was told—pretty bluntly—that breakfast had ended at 11:00 (it was maybe 11:01 at that point). When I asked if I could get it to go, I was told no. When I mentioned that I hadn’t seen signage and didn’t realize the concept changed at 11, I was told there was a sign and that I should have waited to be seated — which again, wasn’t clear, since no one was there to seat me and the setup looked like counter ordering. If a space is technically still open but has fully switched to a different restaurant, that needs to be communicated very clearly — especially when breakfast menus are still visible and there’s nothing obvious telling guests they’ve missed a hard cutoff by one minute. I get the concept change. I don’t get the lack of clarity or the unkind response. With better signage and a little flexibility, this could have been a non-issue.

I loved the food. I had the eggs Benedict with the English muffin replaced with a big toasted tortilla. The egg was perfectly poached and the chorizo was spicy but just a bit not a lot. My side was hash browns but I asked for them crispy and they added the perfect amount of crisp. Kudos to the chef. Service was great as well. A lot of Prior reviews mentioned an unpleasant service experience. Whomever the rotten egg employee that the reviews mentioned- she has been reprimanded considering I didn’t encounter any service issue at all. It almost deterred me but glad I did come. Nice little corner nook for a quick breakfast. I will mention the sausage wasn’t to my husband preference (fried hard) as well as the biscuits and gravy wasn’t up to par on the seasoned part of the gravy.

Jamie at the Egg is awesome! She put several tables together because I had out of town visitors and there were 9 of us. This was their first time in Davidson & they loved it! The entire group enjoyed their breakfast. Big thanks to everyone for making this possible!

A charming little breakfast and brunch place who has a wide selection of funny/cute mugs for their coffee. I've been here a couple of times and it hasn't disappointed so far, just a nice sit down for omelettes and such. A little busy on Sundays but they serve all day breakfast (on Sundays) there. Nothing really stellar in terms of quality, they use low quality ingredients but to the best of their abilities. The wait staff is exceptional and friendly.
