The Lumen House

As a wedding photographer, The Lumen House is hands down one of my absolute favorite venues to work at. There is truly nothing else like it in NC. The modern architecture and clean lines paired with all of the lush greenery makes it feel like you’ve stepped into another world. It’s truly an editorial photographer’s dream. There are so many beautiful backdrops to work with throughout the entire property. I personally love getting to play with the unique shadows and lighting that the structures create. One thing I also really love is how unique this space is while still feeling like a blank canvas. Because of that, every event here feels completely different and personalized. The design possibilities are endless, which honestly makes me so excited every time I get the chance to come back and create something new with my couples. The spaces are also very versatile so no matter the weather or layout, the venue always photographs beautifully! Beyond the venue itself, their team is always so welcoming and helpful. They make the day run smoothly for everyone involved, which makes SUCH a difference. I’m always excited anytime I get the chance to shoot at The Lumen House. It never disappoints!

We got married at The Lumen House in November of 2025, and it was such an incredible choice. My husband and I are both wedding professionals with a combined 15 years of experience, and we had never seen a venue like this in NC. The modern design, chic contrast, and emphasis on natural light were our selling points. It was the perfect canvas for our story. Their inclusions were valuable for us, especially given the quality of the chairs and tables. The owners are kind and accommodating, and Izzy (who I had worked with professionally earlier in the fall and loved) was a wonderful point of contact on our day! We had our wedding here and it was the most incredible experience. In the months leading up, the venue was super responsive, answered all my questions and helped me as I planned. On the wedding day, Izzy (the venue rep) was there at 10am right when we arrived. She made sure everything was setup perfectly. She worked with our coordinator and made sure everything ran smoothly on the day of. It was the most perfect day and i would rebook them every time if i had to do it over again.

I cannot say enough about how much we love this space! My husband and I are both in the wedding industry in Wilmington,NC. For our wedding we wanted something that we haven’t seen in our town or something we work at every weekend. The Lumen House is NOTHING like we have seen ANYWHERE!!! the attention to detail, the love they have poured into It, and the guest experience is unmatched. If you are between any venue… please don’t waste your time and just go ahead and book at the lumen house! I promise we have been to and planned a million weddings at a million venues and none compare to here.

We booked with The Lumen House back in summer of 2024, and just had our special day January 18th, 2026 (thankfully before all the snow). It has been truly amazing to see how the space has transformed over the last few years. Everything about the venue is breathtaking and we are so incredibly happy to have been able to have our special day here. Us, our family, and our guests could not get over the amazing views, the space, and the way it contributed to the atmosphere. It was truly the BEST day.
