Allow me to tell you exactly how so :) The studio’s name, The Singer’s Spotlight, is quite accurate in describing the experience you will receive. Because the student is the top priority; they are in the metaphorical “spotlight.” Laura wants nothing more than her students to reach their full potential, while feeling as comfortable as possible and under no pressure. All while having a deep and thorough understanding of how the human voice works while singing. Her own understanding of these concepts is unparalleled, at least in my humble opinion. You will absolutely love her chill, laid-back nature and especially the calming aura that she has. One can feel it as soon as they enter the room and it serves her profession perfectly. There are many other places out there, like Guitar Center, in which the instructors often have a rather corporate-like mindset that is only concerned about making money. Here at The Singer’s Spotlight, it is quite the opposite for all of the aforementioned things. Needless to say, you will most assuredly get your money’s worth. I had known Laura as a friend for quite a while before taking voice lessons, and had heard nothing but great things about her studio. Having now experienced it myself, I can confirm that it is all 100% true, not that I had any doubt whatsoever. My daughter has been receiving vocal instruction from various vocal instructors over the past 10 years and Laura is by far our favorite! She is truly talented and has a gift for teaching and collaborating with her students. We moved to NC just over one year ago, and we were referred to Laura as a go to vocal coach in Mooresville. Over this past year, under Laura’s guidance and mentorship, my daughter has grown exponentially in not only her understanding of how to fine tune techniques and properly use her voice (rather than muscle memory), but she has also grown tremendously in her comfort level in performing on stage. We are truly blessed to have found Laura and for her dedication to her students success along their vocal journey. I've been working with Laura since I was 10 years old, and I can confidently say she is the most incredible teacher I have ever had.
