Went there today for my birthday.
The Good: Jane did my facial and she was fantastic. It was my first time and she walked me through everything she was doing. It was incredibly relaxing and my skin feels great. I was worried due to having dry skin and eczema but was very pleasantly surprised by the outcome.
Beautiful interior, and relaxing atmosphere.
The Bad: I got a massage (Reva?), with added scalp and foot massage. I asked for medium pressure, and said the only trouble area was my hips. Pressure was very light. I did ask for it harder. It was relaxing, but the lightest massage I’ve ever had. She never touched my hips. She touched my feet for about 20 minutes, then did a great scalp massage for about 10.
I would 100% go back and see Jane. I might get a massage, but it would have to be with a different person.
Overall it was a bit disappointing telling my wife that her gift was a lackluster experience.

I booked a Facial with Urbana and Jane was amazing! I was interested in a truly relaxing experience and Jane nailed it. She was so patient, thorough with the skin consult, truly listened and delivered the most relaxing facial with results! She not only left me relaxed but with knowledge about my skin and what I needed for the future. Thank you Jane!

Revising my review:
While my original experience fell below expectations, everything that followed was definitely 5 stars! The manager, Michelle reached out to me and went above and beyond to make it right. I returned for a 2nd massage and the entire experience exceeded my expectations. Urbana offers personal touches (tea or wine in a relaxing setting to prepare you for your massage), professional, friendly staff (from the front desk to the service provider) and an overall relaxing experience. I highly recommend this spa and will be back soon!!!

I’m deeply disappointed by the experience my mother and I had at Urbana Spa in Huntersville for Mother’s Day. I booked two of their special Mother’s Day packages, and while our massage therapist, Precious, and facialist, Jane, were both absolutely wonderful and the highlight of our visit, the rest of the experience, especially the service and hospitality, was shockingly poor.
We arrived at 1:30 p.m. for our 2:30 p.m. appointments, having called twice beforehand to confirm we could come early to relax and enjoy mimosas. Despite that, we were met with confusion and a cold, unwelcoming attitude from the front desk associate, Briana. She didn’t acknowledge the holiday or make any effort to greet us warmly, which immediately set the wrong tone.
We weren’t shown to the changing room until nearly 1:50, and when we got there, there were no robes that fit my mother, who wears a 2X. She had to patch together two robes just to get by, which was humiliating. No apology was offered, and no effort was made to resolve the situation.
Once in the relaxation room, we were handed mimosas, but that was it. No staff checked on us, and there were none of the thoughtful touches you’d expect from a premium spa or a special-occasion package. No snacks, no cucumber water, no ambiance, just a bare-bones room and silence.
After the services (which were genuinely excellent), I brought up my concerns with Briana. She didn’t apologize. Instead, she smirked and remained dismissive, while Jane, who had no responsibility in the matter, stepped in to try to smooth things over. It was awkward and unprofessional.
To top it off, I was only handed one gift bag, even though I purchased two packages. I had to ask for the second one, which Briana reluctantly gave me with no acknowledgment or explanation.
This was supposed to be a beautiful, relaxing experience with my mom, who is moving overseas soon, and it was completely overshadowed by poor hospitality, lack of care, and unacceptable service at the front desk. For the price point and occasion, Urbana truly let us down. I hope this feedback is taken seriously.
