Viva Chicken

I was excited to try this place for the first time on my lunch break today. The person who helped me was very kind. I got the Inca burrito to go- which was on the first bite delicious and it was well presented. The second bite I felt a crunch and found a bone, didn’t think much of it because it happens, it’s rotisserie chicken, and threw it away. But before I could even finish the first half of the burrito another bone went straight into my cheek. Didn’t finish the rest because I shouldn’t have to pick sharp bones out of a wrap with “pulled chicken”. Not sure I’ll be back because of this - be careful if you eat here!

My family did a carry out of a 1/2 chicken dinner (2 sides, beans, rice), Caesar turkey wrap, and salads. VC is underrated, under priced, and under appreciated. I love roast chicken and have consider the offering at 131 Main, a local upscale restaurant, as my go-to roast chicken dinner at $28. Viva’s offering at $15.75 was every bit as good at a little more than half the price, and included two very good sides, Peruvian beans, and cilantro rice. Putting in the order online was a bit of a challenge, and we switched to a live person who could not have been more helpful, and patient. She repeated the order to check it, and we set a pick up time at 12:30. Curbside delivery is available, but my wife insisted on going in to meet the kind person who helped her. The order was ready as promised and the portions were such that we five had second meals later that day. VC is a local chain with other locations, a couple of which we have tried. Their menu is consistent and delicious across the board. I would recommend VC for a quick meal (they have dine-in) or a full meal for the family.

This is disgusting! I have gotten this drink well over 40 times and never had specks of black mold in it! No it’s not seeds, Mentioned it to the girl working and she just shrugged it off. Even the basil drink was full of it!

The food here used to be good and fresh. It’s hit or miss. Sometimes, it’s good and fresh and other times it’s not. Seems the more I visit lately, the food quality has gone down. Today, I had 1/2 chicken with corn salad and fried rice. The chicken was very dry and seemed like it was sitting for quite some time and had dried out. The corn salad was fine. The fried rice was in the shape of a cup like it usually is. However, this time it was dry, gelatinous and crispy. It probably had been put in a cup hours ago and placed in a warmer. The edges were hard and crispy from being in the warmer for so long. The sauces were good. I wish they were good back to their roots when they first opened. I couldn’t eat most of it.

Alice is wonderful every time we bring our family to this restaurant. The whole staff is fantastic and always aware of guest needs. The food is consistently delicious and has an overall clean vibe. We go often to dine there. Highly recommend.
