The overview

What to expect.

Small-town July Fourth doesn't get more genuine than this. The Troutman Independence Day Parade is back for its 21st year — and as the only Independence Day parade in Iredell County, it's the one that draws the whole community to Main Street. This year carries extra weight: it's tied to the celebration of America's 250th birthday, so expect the bunting, the flags, and the turnout to be turned up a notch.

The route is classic downtown Troutman. The parade travels down Main Street / US Hwy 21, starting at the Iredell County Fairgrounds and finishing at the American Legion Post at 401 Main St. Stake out a curb spot early, bring chairs and something cold to drink, and settle in for floats, fire trucks, civic groups, and a whole lot of small-town pride.

"

The only Fourth of July parade in Iredell County — and in America's 250th year, Troutman's Main Street is the place to wave a flag.

Want to be in the parade rather than watch it? You're welcome to. Churches, businesses, organizations, civic groups, and community members are all invited to join, and there's no fee to participate — it's brought to you by the Troutman Ruritan Club as title sponsor. Just get your application in on time.
