The overview

What to expect.

Still using AI just to write emails, settle arguments, or figure out what to make for dinner? You're not alone. But there's a whole lot more these tools can do—and Charlotte is hosting a two-day event to help you figure it out.

The AI Friendly Summit is coming to Uptown Charlotte on November 4–5, bringing together entrepreneurs, small business owners, professionals, and technology enthusiasts who want to move beyond the AI hype and actually put these tools to work.

And no, you don't need to know how to code, speak fluent robot, or understand what a large language model is to attend.

Think less futuristic science fiction, more "Wait, AI can do THAT?"

The summit focuses on practical applications of artificial intelligence that can save time, simplify work, and potentially help grow a business. We're talking about using AI to create marketing content, improve sales processes, streamline operations, enhance customer service, and tackle some of those repetitive tasks that seem to consume half your workday.

For Lake Norman's small business owners, freelancers, and entrepreneurs, that could mean discovering ways to get more done without hiring another employee or adding more hours to an already packed schedule.

Four learning tracks offer something for different experience levels and professional goals:

- AI for Career Growth: Explore how AI skills can help you work more efficiently, develop new capabilities, and stay competitive in a changing workplace. - AI for Small Business Growth: Discover practical applications for marketing, sales, customer service, and day-to-day business operations. - AI for Enterprise Growth: Examine how larger organizations can implement AI across teams and business functions. - AI Hands-on Workshop: Roll up your sleeves and experiment with tools and techniques rather than simply listening to presentations.

The program also addresses the questions that deserve more attention as AI becomes part of everyday business: privacy, responsible use, governance, and ethics.

And this isn't just two days of sitting in a conference room watching PowerPoint presentations. Organizers are emphasizing live demonstrations, hands-on learning, real-world case studies, and opportunities to connect with people who are already putting AI to work.

In fact, attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop, tablet, or phone with access to an AI tool so they can follow along during workshops.

The event takes place at The Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City, conveniently located in Uptown Charlotte. It's a manageable trip for Lake Norman residents who want to invest a couple of days in learning something that could have a real impact on their careers or businesses.

General admission is $99 through October 31, covering both days of programming. After that, the price increases to $149.

Whether you're an AI beginner wondering where to start or someone who's already using ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Copilot and wants to take things further, the AI Friendly Summit could be two days well spent.

Who knows? You might come home with a few new tricks, some valuable connections, and enough reclaimed time to finally tackle that to-do list.

Or at least ask AI to organize it for you.

LKN Life Tip: If you run a small business around Lake Norman, take a look at the AI for Small Business Growth track. You might discover practical ways to improve your marketing, automate repetitive work, or manage customer inquiries. Bring your laptop with your preferred AI tool already set up, and go in with two or three real business problems you'd love to solve. And register by October 31 to save $50 on general admission.
