Halloween Treat Trail
What to expect.
Grab your costumes and candy buckets! One of Cornelius's favorite family Halloween traditions is back, bringing an evening of sweet treats, spooky fun, and fall festivities to Bailey Road Park.
The Cornelius Halloween Treat Trail returns Saturday, October 24, from 5:30–8 PM, inviting little ghosts, goblins, princesses, and superheroes to enjoy a festive evening of trick-or-treating and family-friendly Halloween activities.
Kids ages 2–12 can follow the Treat Trail, collecting prepackaged candy from local businesses along the way. But there's much more than candy waiting at the park!
Families can enjoy tractor-pulled hayrides, pumpkin chuckin', campfire stories, games, crafts, and plenty of Halloween fun throughout the evening. And when it's time to wind down, grab a blanket or lawn chair and settle in for a showing of Toy Story of Terror, playing on repeat beginning around 6:30 PM.
Feeling hungry? Lulu's Hotdog Stand will be on-site with concessions available for purchase.
Admission to the Treat Trail is free for Cornelius residents and just $3 per child for non-residents. Space is limited, and advance registration is required for trick-or-treating. Families must select one 30-minute Treat Trail session, but they're welcome to arrive early or stay afterward to enjoy the other festivities.
Whether your little monster is all about the candy or your family just loves a good fall hayride, this Cornelius tradition is a fun way to celebrate Halloween around Lake Norman.
LKN Life Tip: Don't wait until the last minute to register! Treat Trail time slots fill quickly. Bring a lawn chair or blanket for the Halloween movie, and plan to stay beyond your trick-or-treating session to enjoy all the activities.
