Rock The Park Liberty Park Summer Concert The Legacy Motown Revue
What to expect.
Rock the Park is the one Saturday a month, May through September, when Liberty Park turns into the closest thing Mooresville has to a town square set to music. July's Rock the Park headliner is The Legacy Motown Revue, a dynamic tribute act celebrating the golden era of Motown and classic soul. Backed by a tight six-piece horn section and smooth, synchronized choreography, the group brings to life the hits of legends like The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Drifters, The Jacksons, and Earth, Wind & Fire. It's polished, high-energy, crowd-moving stuff — an authentic tribute to one of the most influential eras in music, and exactly the kind of get-up-and-dance set Liberty Park was made for.
It's the kind of free evening the lake does better than anywhere. Families stake out blankets on the grass early, the social district means you can carry a drink from the downtown bars right onto the lawn, and the food trucks line the Broad Street edge. Bring low chairs, a cooler, and the kids — this one runs early and easy.
They deliver the hits of The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Jacksons, and Earth, Wind & Fire — a crowd-moving night of dancing under the Liberty Park sky.
Parking fills up by 5:30, so the move is to come early, grab a spot near the splash pad, and let the kids run while the band sound-checks. By the time the sun drops behind the tree line, you'll understand why locals put this one on the calendar in pen.
