The overview

What to expect.

Grab your costumes, bring your biggest candy buckets, and get ready for a Halloween adventure through the woods! Trails & Treats returns to Troutman on Saturday, October 31, transforming the wooded trails of Troutman ESC Park into a festive trick-or-treating experience for the whole family.

Hosted by the Town of Troutman, this beloved annual Halloween celebration brings together local businesses, nonprofit organizations, and families for two hours of candy, costumes, and community fun.

From 4–6 PM, little ghosts, goblins, princesses, pirates, and superheroes can follow the park's paved trail, stopping along the way to collect candy and treats from participating businesses and organizations.

And these aren't your ordinary trick-or-treating stops! Local groups are encouraged to get creative with Halloween decorations, costumes, and festive displays, adding an extra dose of spooky fun to the experience. You never know what surprises might be waiting around the next bend!

For parents, Trails & Treats offers a fun alternative to traditional neighborhood trick-or-treating. Instead of going door to door, families can enjoy an organized outdoor celebration along a paved trail in one of Troutman's favorite community parks.

It's also a wonderful opportunity to meet the local businesses and nonprofit organizations that help make Troutman such a welcoming community.

With organizers asking participating groups to prepare treats for at least 2,000 children, this is one popular Halloween tradition! Expect plenty of costumes, excited trick-or-treaters, and a festive atmosphere throughout the park.

Best of all, the entire event is completely free! Just bring your costumes, candy bags, and Halloween spirit.

Whether you're looking for a fun way to spend Halloween afternoon or want to get the kids out for some fresh air and sweet treats before the evening festivities begin, Trails & Treats is a spooktacular way to celebrate Halloween in Troutman!

LKN Life Tip: Arrive close to 4 PM to beat the biggest crowds and give your little trick-or-treaters plenty of time to visit all the candy stops! The event follows a paved wooded trail, so comfortable walking shoes are a must. Bring a large candy bucket, dress for the weather, and allow extra time for parking. Public parking is available at Troutman ESC Park and Troutman Town Hall.
